Coach Kaelyn

Kaelyn Kear has been teaching dance in Charleston SC for over five years. She has extensive ballet and modern dance training from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), Pennsylvania Ballet, and Charlotte Ballet. Growing up, she attended many prestigious summer programs, most notably The School of American Ballet and Chautauqua Institution as a festival dancer.

She is currently an award-winning competitive Latin ballroom dancer and an alumna of College of Charleston, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Dance. While at CofC, she remained actively involved in dance through many Mainstage productions and by performing at the American College Dance Association conference. Kaelyn is now a master’s student at The Medical University of South Carolina studying Biomedical Sciences, with a research focus on autoimmune diseases.

 

She is passionate about fostering a confident, creative, and positive learning environment where students feel encouraged to grow both technically and artistically.

Kaelyn is proud to be a part of the PHD faculty and community!
